The Group Relations panel is used to define the Subgroups that a Group of the selected type may have as members. The panel is only displayed for those Group Types that have the ‘Sub Group Allowed’ switch set to ‘Yes’. Only Group Types entered here are displayed in the list of values for Sub Groups when a Group hierarchy is being built in Groups of Groups for the selected Group Type.

The Group hierarchy is displayed as a tree view in the panel on the right. You can adjust the relative size of the grid and the tree view by dragging the vertical bar left or right.

To add a Group Type as a member of the current Group (a 'Subgroup'), press the button. The Add Group Type Relations dialog opens.

The dialog includes the following fields:

Child Group Type (Dropdown - Required): Enter the Group Type, selectable as a Sub Group of the selected Group Type.

Start Date (Required): Enter the date from which Groups of this Type may be added as members of Groups of the ‘Parent’ type selected.

End Date (Optional): Enter the date to which Groups of this Type may be added as members of Groups of the ‘Parent’ type selected.

To remove the relationship, select the Subgroup and press the Delete button. A confirmation dialog appears. Press Yes to remove the selected group type as a member of the Group.
